Healthy Schools

We have been awarded Beacon School Status in Leeds for our commitment to the Healthy Schools Framework and for excellent provision for social, emotional and mental health (September 2023)

At Roundhay St John's we actively promote and teach pupils about healthy lifestyles to help them positive choices in relation to food, exercise and mental wellbeing. We have successfully self validated (October 2020) to maintain our Healthy Schools status using the Leeds School Health Check.

 Healthy Schools report

The Healthy Schools Health check has four aspects:

Personal, Social, Health and Economic education (PSHE)

We follow the You, Me, PSHE scheme of work which centres around the following themes:

Physical health and well-being

Keeping safe and managing risk

Identity, society and equality

Drug, alcohol and tobacco education

Mental health and emotional well-being

Career, financial capability and economic well-being

Relationship and sex education.
