School Meals

As a school, we have been awarded the Healthy School Standard which relies on our commitment to continually promoting healthy options and lifestyles for children in their everyday lives.

School meals follow a healthy eating programme and children may bring fruit (fresh or dried) if you wish them to have a mid-morning snack.  Children are encouraged to bring water containers to school each day and have regular access to them as the drinking of plenty of water has been proved to be a help to learning. Please do not put fizzy drinks or sweets as part of your child’s packed lunch.

It is the parent(s)/carer's decision whether they wish a child to have school dinners or a packed lunch. If you wanted to try school dinners, this would need to remain so for one week before having the option to change back.

Cost of School Dinners

Reception, years 1 and 2 are entitled to free school meals.

For years 3, 4, 5, 6 and nursery the costs of one week’s dinner money is £12.00 (£2.40 per day)

Parents can arrange to pay for school meals either weekly on Mondays, half-termly or termly in advance. It can also be paid online.

Reimbursements are made if meals have not been taken up due to absences. If dinner money has not been received by the Tuesday, a reminder letter will automatically be sent out to arrange for the dinner money to be paid.

If a child wanted to try school dinners, this would need to remain so for one week before having the option to change back. If you wish to have a mixture of school dinners and packed lunches within the week, this is absolutely fine, but it needs to be consistent, so that the same days are used for school dinners each week. 1 week notice is required in writing to Mrs Crooke and this arrangement must at least remain for a half term period.Enter text...
