Welcome to Discoveries

 

Discoveries is our before and after school club care for all year groups in school, including early years. The school club works alongside the school to provide the best care for all children. 

Discoveries is an place of fun, games and activities - to keep the children entertained until home time.

Our dedicated team have expert knowledge. We offer every child opportunities to join in the activities or have some free time to play their own games. Many students take the time to complete homework and our team are on hand to offer help.

We offer all students a breakfast snack from a choice of;  cereals, yoghurts, fruits, toast and bagels.

Discoveries after school snack is prepared by the school kitchen staff. We offer a snack every day, including two hot meals per week plus a variety of fruits. Our menu can be found on the entrance doors.

The club offers care for up to 45 children.

 

Breakfast 

7:30am - 8:45am when school starts

After School 

Mon to Thurs: 3:15pm - 6:00pm (3pm for nursery children)

Friday: 3:15pm - 5:30pm 

The club runs only in school term time, excluding training days.

 

Fees for morning session (2026/27):

£7.50 per session from 7:30am including breakfast 

£5.50 per session from 8:00am including breakfast 

£2.50 per session from 8:30am not including breakfast.

 

Fees for 3.15pm to 6.00pm (2024/25): 

£12.50 per session as part of term booking payment in advance

£12.50 per ad hoc session. (Depending on availability, please request at least 48 hours before hand).

Please be aware late pick up fees apply £4 per 10 minute.

 
 
Booking a place.
for our afterschool club must be renewed annually using the Arbor app.
School will email all parents as soon as the yearly booking window opens so you can secure your child's regular slot. If you require ad-hoc or occasional childcare, please note that these spaces are subject to availability. While we always endeavour to accommodate your flexible needs, you must contact our Discoveries Manager, Miss Castro, directly to arrange any short-notice bookings

and paid one-off £10 admin fee. s form 

Parents can use their childcare voucher system to pay for their childcare, further details are available on application. Parents can pay fees using Arbor or the Government Tax-Fee Scheme. A mixture of methods is also acceptable.

Useful Tips

For urgent communication during Discoveries sessions—such as late pickups or changes to collection instructions—please contact Miss Castro directly on the club's mobile phone. If she does not answer, she is busy with the children, so please send a text message or contact the main school office instead. Please note that Miss Castro does not work between 9:00 am and 2:45 pm, so she will not answer calls or reply to emails during these hours. For any urgent issues during the school day, please contact the main school office; alternative non-urgent texts or emails sent to Miss Castro during this time will be picked up when she starts her shift.
