Schools seem to find themselves in the spotlight for a numbers of reason at present. One of the reasons for this that you may be aware of is the government’s move to have all schools join multi academy trusts in the future. This is something that has been on the radar for many years and is something that the governing body of Roundhay St John’s have given thought to over a long period. In the past year, since the government strengthened their intentions for schools to join trusts, we have looked at the options that we have as a school. We are now at a stage where we have decided to consult about the possibility of us joining the Leeds Diocesan Learning Trust.
The Leeds Diocesan Learning Trust has been set up by the Church of England Diocese of Leeds. As as aided school, we have always had a very significant relationship with the diocese who, of course, own the building and the land on which the schools stands. This is a relatively new trust and we absolutely see this as an exciting opportunity to be part of this new venture at an early stage. This enables us to help shape the future of a trust whose vision and ethos aligns so well with our own Christian ethos.
The consultation will run from 6th March until 3pm on Friday 28th April.
There will be an opportunity for parents to hear about this in person and to ask questions at a consultation meeting which will take place on Wednesday 19th April at 5pm.
Please take time to read the consultation documentation below.
